2018 Events
Many thanks to Candy Parnell for capturing these memorable events!
Thanks, Candy!
Christmas Craft Show
The CLA Annual Craft Show was a well-organized display of talented crafters proudly selling their wares. A little over 1,000 people attended throughout the day and about 40 crafters. A very sincere “Thank You” to Sue Destrampe for once again being the coordinator of this event. I also want to thank her helpers; Sue’s husband Bob, her son Bobby and her good friend Janice Covey. Thank you as well to Candy and Rick Parnell for taking pictures and to the CLPOC Maintenance Department for the set-up. Great job everyone.

Our thanks also go out to our Fire Chief Allen Sutherby and members of his crew who brought the fire truck to the Highland Haus.
Our thanks again for our cooks and everyone in attendance for another successful cook-off.
Trick or Treat
This year’s CLA Annual Trick or Treat held at the Castle was fantastic. We had about 50 spaces set up and decorated by Community Members to pass out candy to the kids. There were over 460 Trick or Treaters and parents who came to the Castle for a safe and fun place to gather their treats.
Voices of Freedom
What a great night. We had over two hundred people attend the Voices of Freedom Concert on Saturday and what a performance it was! There was toe-tapping, laughing and a few tears. This incredible group was first brought to Canadian Lakes by Gloria and Dick Wheeler in September of 2006 and they have never failed to entertain us and touch our hearts. Gloria and Dick’s son Stephen sang with this group and that’s how they were first introduced to them. The late Jackie Heinrich was the liaison between the CLA and the Voices of Freedom. Many of the members of the group still talk about what a wonderful lady she was. Well done, Voices of Freedom! Thank you Canadian Lakers for joining us.

Ferris State Community Band
The Ferris State Community band performed at the Castle! What a talented group of people!
